About us
We are three childhood friends who grew up together in Luleå, a city surrounded by a thousand islands, crispy winter air and a deeply rooted sauna culture. From childhood, the sauna was an obvious part of our lives - after football training, in family gatherings or just as a place to relax. We took it for granted.
But life took us to Stockholm, and everything changed. Public saunas were overcrowded, electricity prices shot up, and the heat we once shared suddenly became a rare luxury. We missed it - not only the heat, but also the community.
The lack of sauna became too great, and we had to take it into our own hands, but traditional saunas were too expensive, required building permits and space we did not have. Then Sebastian found the solution - one Sauna Tent. The first thing we tested was far from perfect, but the feeling was right. It was at that moment that bast was born.
Our purpose extends beyond offering a sauna tent, it is about spreading the sauna culture by making it accessible to people, like us, who did not have the opportunity to build a stationary, traditional sauna. We didn't realize it when we started sauna, but all of a sudden we could offer everyone who didn't have the money, space or opportunity for a stationary sauna an alternative.
Our vision is to spread the sauna culture around Europe and we believe that sauna tents are a perfect solution to introduce other cultures to what we in the Nordics already know, that sauna is the best there is!
